Working to Make Belle Plaine Better

Belle Plaine Community Development Corporation (BPCDC) was created in 2005 when the Chamber of Commerce merged with the Downtown Improvement Committee. We are a non-profit, community development organization committed to making Belle Plaine a quaint, friendly place to live, work and play.

Design Committee

Design Committee
Meets the 2nd Monday per Month at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall.  The design committee has the difficult job of trying to guide the downtown district to have a unified look.  This look will capitalize on Belle Plaine's history and showcase the strong points of our Main Street District.  Trying to create incentives for downtown businesses to improve the inside and outside look of their businesses is very important.  The design committee does not just focus on the exterior of buildings, but also the interior of the buildings.

"Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It's important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It's the way in which we ourselves grow and develop."
